Monday 3/23

Okay, I fell off the wagon...jumped!

I bought and ate Peeps. Bought a 2 liter of Coca Cola and even Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookies (Tate's Cookies - try them. My daughter doesn't get any royalties. Someone stole her name!)....

and totally FORGOT what yesterday's Breaking Chains was about! EXPECTATIONS!

I was an anxious mess Saturday night...sure Sunday's service would tank! Sunday morning I could not wait to get it over. Again, sure that it would tank!

Then somewhere in the middle of the service, the music, the scripture, the message started sinking in. I could hear the elephant on Disney's Tarzan saying to me, "Sometimes you embarrass me.' What was I so worried about? Even if it did tank, the point was getting together with our people and all of us being encouraged to carry on and carry the light of Jesus to a world needing hope right now. I AM NOT THE POINT! Kenny, Kenny, Kenny......

Jesus said in Matthew 7:12 - Do to others as you would have them do to you; in Matthew 22:39 - Love your neighbor as yourself. Thank you for getting together with us yesterday. Thank you for chiming in and being patient as we figure it all out. Why I cannot be as nice to myself as others are? Why are we so hard on ourselves?

Jesus, help me not to project my expectations on others. Help me to not project any expectations on myself except to Love you and to Love my neighbor as myself. Help me to see myself as a reflection of You. When I do not get that completely right, help me to see your scars and remember you came and died to set me free! Your perfect love sets us free. 1 John 4:16-18.
