Sports Ministries

Dear Upward Family, 

Since Manteno Church of the Nazarene launched the program in 2012, Upward Basketball has been the start of many children’s athletic and spiritual journey.  For the many children and families who grew up with Upward, we are saddened to announce that the Upward Sports ministry will not be offering a 2023 season and that the basketball ministry is permanently closed.  

We have encountered so many amazing people who have come through these doors in the last 10 seasons. From athletes, coaches, and referees to concession workers, announcers, photographers, set-up and tear-down crews, and all the other volunteers who poured into this ministry: we are beyond grateful for the support and the memories made.

There are great things ahead for our Church, we still plan to be a warm, inviting, and safe place for the families in our community to pursue our mission to Love God, Journey Together, Serve Others and Share Jesus.
