Daily Encouragement 3 31 PicFrom Pastor's Ken's Study...

A friend asked me recently what lines they should draw in the sand and not waiver on. He noticed those 'lines' often create great opportunities to apologize and ask forgiveness for being judgmental or hypocritical.

We thought about Jesus. Listen to how they criticized Jesus. They said this to try and trap him. 'Teacher, we know that you're genuine and you don't worry about what people think. You don't show favoritism but teach God's way as it really is.' Mark 12:14.

Really?! That's all they had on Jesus. My friend and I concluded that if we were ever going to have to apologize for our beliefs and behavior - our 'lines in the sand' - it would be for loving people too much, giving people too much grace and too much mercy.

Jesus said to love God with everything, love our neighbors as ourselves, not to judge, and to take care of the least of these. Those are our 'lines in the sand'.

If we have to apologize for those, we could do it standing tall.

There are a ton of things to believe in today. Believe in God. Believe in God's image in your neighbor AND in you. Err on the side of grace every time.

Together in Christ.
